How To Adapt Your Work Life To Pregnancy

Sharing is caring!

As much as you might like to wish that your pregnancy is going to be a breeze, it’s not always guaranteed. Because your body is changing. And while those changes aren’t always going to be that impressionable on everyone, if they’re starting to make waves in your world, you need to react. You’re going to want to make sure that you have a comfortable pregnancy. And if you want to have a good year too, that means you have to make some adaptations to your daily life. But I’m not just talking about getting your husband to do the dishes because that’s not going to take a load off of the biggest chunk of your day – work. So here’s how you can adapt your life at work to make your pregnancy more comfortable.

Exercise

Project Nursery Shop, largest children's design resourceWhen you work in an office, sitting at a desk all day can be tough on your ever-changing body. So, you’re going to want to try and shake things up a little compared to your normal routine. Try to stretch your legs a bit more, and even try out some of these desk exercises. By exercising, you will be able to get the blood flowing in your body to stop those awful aches from really setting in.

Get Comfortable

But because you are sitting all day, you need to be as comfortable as possible. This means you’re going to want to try and adapt your chair and sitting position to make it easier. For this, you can see ahf.co.uk for tips on what might work for you. In many cases, a pillow may be all you need to keep your body supported as it changes, but you may also find that investing in a different chair will be the best option to stop unnecessary tension in your muscles.

Feel Comfortable

Then, you’re also going to need to look at what you’re wearing too. Because your usual choice of workwear or uniform can’t always cut it for pregnancy. You may be better off investing in the right maternity wear. But you’re going to need to make sure it suits your industry, so visit WonderWinkScrubShop.com for more on medical specific ideas, or speak to your boss about ideas. For more formal office fashions, you’re going to want to look into under or over the bump pants that won’t make you feel uncomfortable after a full day in the office.

Snack Right

You know that you need to get your diet right if you want to benefit from as much energy as possible during your pregnancy. This means you have to change how you eat at work too. First of all, taking your lunch and snacks into work is the most important part so you can have food on hand even when the day is busy. Because if you have to buy your lunch, you may lose energy before you get a chance to nip out and pick up nutritious supplies.

Rest

But the success of your working day is going to be as much about your evening preparations as much as it is your activity in the day. Pre-pregnancy, you may have been a social butterfly, but you should try to rest as much as possible now. Low-key evenings will allow your body to recharge so that you feel more energized at work the next day too.

How are you adapting your work life to pregnancy? Have you tried any of these tips? What is/was the most challenging in adapting your work life to your pregnancy? Did you have support during your pregnancy? Please share in the comments below. I really would love to know.

Until next time, shine amongst the stars!

  1. I would add to make sure your snacks are easy on your stomach, things like fruit and applesauce (which will bring your blood sugar back up) or nuts and carrots. Also, keep water at your desk constantly to stay hydrated.
