3 Things To Implement NOW to Improve Your Google Ranking

Sharing is caring!

Hello, my blogging Stars! I have a couple of jewels to share on how to rank #1 on Google’s first page. I decided to share because I was online yesterday searching for ideas on how to make my dining room decor softer since I find myself perched at the dining table writing and blogging quite often. During my search, I found that most of the sites that I pulled up had a few things in common. Of course, the subject I was searching, but I’m talking the characteristics of their websites, such as upload speed and navigability.

There was also a similarity in the design and layout that I noticed as well. Sidebar: I think the random conversations I have with Tim about his client’s issues are clicking with me more lately. I am much more interested in his marketing implementations. (I love you, Tim:). I digress. So, to help some of you who are concerned about ranking higher on Google and other search engines, I would like to help you offer an optimized experience to your visitors. Here are 3 Things To Implement NOW to Improve Your Google Ranking.

Google SEO

#1 GOOGLE SEARCH CONSOLE: OPTIMIZE YOUR CONTENT

You need to optimize your content. There’s a tool for that. It’s called Google Search Console. It literally tells you exactly what to do to get your site ranking as #1 around the topic of your blog post. Most importantly, it gives you a report of your blog site’s performance, the total amount of impressions (views), and the CTR (Click-through-rate). You will also be able to see which keywords are most relevant around your topic and you’ll also get analytics that shows you what keywords in your blog are being searched the most. I suggest choosing 3 keywords that are most popular than 2 that are less popular, that have around a 6% CTR. This will give you a list of words or queries you can pepper your blog posts with in order to make Google’s Hummingbird like you more. More on that later.

#2 TITLE TAG & META-DESCRIPTION: THE BIG HEADLINE

I’m sure you’ve run into a search result that had a catchy title which included one or more of the keywords you were searching for. You clicked and then – wait for it … wait for it – ok. Never mind and you bounced on to the next one.  Well, the clickable link that sent you to the website you chose is called a Title Tag. It acts like a headline title on the front page of your local newspaper. It’s vital that you make sure, at a minimum, you insert one or two of the keywords that will be likely searched, into your title tag. The same goes for your Meta-description which is found within the URL of the search results. Do not neglect this step because you don’t want Google to neglect you. Those searching will likely want to avoid clicking your link when there’s nothing in that title to indicate you have what they want.

Google SEO

#3 CONTENT-FOCUS: STRATEGICALLY RICH

You want to be VERY thorough when you draft your content for SEO purposes. What I mean is when you’re writing on the subject, don’t just skim the surface. Dive a bit deep without getting TOO technical because that bores the typical reader. You want to be somewhat exhaustive and leave the reader well fed and no longer hungry for answers because you’ve answered every general question they could’ve had. If you find yourself struggling with what to say, you can revert back to my #1 tip which is Google Search Console. Look at the list of keywords they provide. Take one word from the list at a time and create informative, instructional guidance for your readers. If instead, you decide to cram one sentence with several keywords Google’s gonna get you. Yes! Google has a robotic pet (software) called Hummingbird that hovers over your content seeking out its prey which is rodent-content that seems non-organic or irrelevant to your topic. Your content must be incorrect context and make sense in a sentence. When Hummingbird finds your rodents, it squawks and Google drops your ranking. Therefore, it behooves you to carefully write keeping in mind that Google’s Hummingbird is a bot, so think like a bot when you’re editing content, but think like a reader when writing it.

My SEO traffic more than tripled to that article. Yes, it is that simple. And when I made that change, it didn’t happen right away, but I noticed the results within 30 days. That’s not a long time.

Now that you’ve learned these three tips, I challenge you to take these tactics and implement them, and then after you implement them, in the next 45 days I want you to leave another comment with your results. Are you up for the challenge? What are your thoughts?  Please share in the comments below. I really would love to know.

Until next time, shine amongst the stars!
