The biggest challenge you face when trying to get more qualifications in later life is balancing your education with your family. Going back into education full-time just isn’t going to work out if you need to be around to pick up the kids from school. You can’t exactly ask for all of the class schedules to be changed to fit around you. But if you’re doing an online course, you can do the work as and when it suits you so it won’t interfere with any of your existing responsibilities. People getting a degree at 18 don’t necessarily need to find something that leads directly into a career. They’ve got the time to sample a few jobs and find something. But you’ll want to get straight into work when you’ve got your degree. It’s those more specific, job-related courses that are more suitable for parents looking to get back into work in later life.

The cost of getting a degree itself is one thing to consider, but what about all of the other costs? If you’re having to go out to attend classes all of the time, you’ll have to pay for childcare costs. That can quickly mount up if you’re going to a lot of classes. But when you’re doing it online, you can complete your studies while you’re at home watching the kids.

Doing an online course is cheaper, more flexible and gives you better job opportunities at the end. That’s why it’s the perfect choice for stay at home moms.
