But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen. I’m telling you, amazing things will happen.” It’s not hard to see how this quote has its own sense of profundity. We can apply it to our lives in many different ways.

We’d say that the middle part is one of the most important things to consider here. No one in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. You might have noticed this in your own life. Sometimes, we need to take a new path, change our ideas for the future, and adapt to our circumstances. Does this mean that we live a poorer quality of life? Not at all. It might be that someone in your family comes down with an illness. But through the mutual care and squeezing the most out of their quality of life, they actually experience some of the most emotionally profound and true years of their life. This is a generalization, but it goes to show that sometimes, the alternative or silver lining can redeem that which happens to us, or the changes we experience.

It can be worthwhile to look after yourself closely in these scenarios, in seeing the good in every situation so long as you can look for it, and to be grateful for what you have. This can help you adjust with much more speed, but it’s also important to give yourself time, and realize that forcing feelings only makes it harder for you to fully process them. Life can be hard and beautiful in equal measure, so be sure to take them both in your stride.

You’re Who You Are Today

No matter if an alternative is much better than you had hoped, or that you have to adjust to a life much less aimed at your original plans, it’s important to remember that you are who you are today as a consequence of everything you’ve gone through in life. Without those things happening, you wouldn’t be the great person you are today, nor might your family be so close. Keeping this in mind can help you find joy in the difficulties, or simply help you gain more gratitude for every positive.
