Keep The Romance Alive Beyond Valentine’s Day

Wait a minute! One day a year is barely enough to celebrate the love between me and my husband. However, I understand Valentine’s Day is a notable reason to reignite the romance in our relationship, but for some it may feel like an obligation. The holiday becomes more about gifts and fancy dinners than true love.

If you’re tired of the same old dinner dates and chocolates passing as tokens of love, instituting some imagination in your love life is certain to spark the romantic in you. Finding different ways to express your love will keep things exciting and show how much you truly adore each other. By leisurely implementing some of these tips into your marriage or relationship over time, you can ensure that romance is alive all year round, not just one day of the year.

Go on an In-Home Adventure

There is nothing more romantic than whisking your partner away on an unexpected in-home adventure. Whether it’s just learning a new recipe or turning your bedroom into a luxury hotel, making your date an adventure will help keep things new and lively. Even small things like sneaking a gift into your partner’s suitcase, there are plenty of ways to make your adventure more romantic.

Sing To Your Partner

If you and your partner have a special song, have a karaoke night and surprise them by giving your best performance. It’s not always easy to gather up the courage to perform, but that will only go to show how much you truly care.

Write Your Love in a Letter

Flowers or a box of chocolates are beautiful gestures that help convey your love, but nothing actually says it like a love letter. Taking the extra time to put your feelings into writing is much more thoughtful and deep, which is sure to be appreciated. By slipping a quick note into your partner’s bag before they head off for work, you can turn their whole day around with nice surprise when they discover it later on.

Make Love MORE

To be Honest, physical intimacy is a vital part of any relationship. If you’re struggling to make time or want to mix things up, try finding more creative ways to make love. Surprise your partner by joining them in the shower, or make breakfast in bed with some sexy foods. The more spontaneous the better.

Dinner and a Movie at Home

A creative play on the classic date night is guaranteed to be more romantic. Cooking your partner’s favorite meal is a labor of love, but cooking it together is an even greater shared experience. Next, build a fort in your living room like you did when you were kids and throw on your favorite movies. A romantic classic is always a great choice.

  1. These are lovely ideas. And I agree that Love Day should not just be one day in a couple’s lives. Must be everyday, if possible.

  2. These are good tips. My town still has tight restrictions on restaurants so there will be long waits for even carry out. So we will be celebrating on the 13th.

  3. These are some fabulous ideas. I love to send my husband letters. He’s deployed right now so I hope they cheer him up!
