We all know that exercise is good for us. Not only does it help keep the waistline trim, but it also offers a whole range of other health benefits too, both physical and mental. But how many of us actually do enough exercise, if any? When life is busy, it is hard to find the time. Some of us are full-time Moms with jobs, a house to keep and a social life to maintain somehow, so getting down to exercise is just not on our list of priorities, especially when it is hard and boring. So below are some ideas on making exercise a bit more fun, so you will want to incorporate it into a daily routine:
Get the Friends Involved
Instead of going to the coffee house, why not take a stroll in the park, or go out to a nature reserve. That way you can keep up the social life and incorporate exercise too. Gogin for a stroll with friends will not feel like exercise, but you will be burning the calories. If all you want is to increase movement, then this is a great, simple way to begin. It’s not intensive and won’t put you off.
Getting out in the backyard and playing jump rope for a few minutes takes up hardly any time and is a great way to get a sweat on and get the heart racing. You can do it as fast or as slow as you want, and as you improve, you may even be able to add in a few tricks.
Play with the Kids
Make the most of being with the kids. If they are in the backyard kicking a ball about join them, or may suggest playing frisbee. Chase is a great one too. Mixing exercise and quality time with the kids is a fun way to burn those calories. You could also take them on hiking trips or swimming, remember their fitness is important too.
Okay, fair enough, cleaning is not necessarily fun, but why not make it more fun. Put on some tunes and dance about while you push the vacuum about, or throw that duster around. Again you are mixing two must-do activities in one.
If you have never been to a dance class before, maybe now is the time. Invite some friends and make a weekly event of it. You never know it could be a fantastic laugh. You can also practise at home, or in the car park, wherever takes your fancy. However, be careful, as you don’t want to pull a muscle, special if you have been out of action for a long time. If you ever do get an injury, like a leg injury, try some kt tape outer knee [see here], which will help get you back to full strength.
Every girl loves this, so why not put on a Fitbit and try and get your steps in while hunting for that new dress. Why not park just that little bit further away from the mall entrance and make the most of this outing.
What are your thoughts? Please share in the comments below. I really would love to know.
Until next time, shine amongst the stars!
