A misbehaving child can often be difficult to deal with. However, that doesn’t mean shouting or being overly forceful with them will bring certain results. Sometimes communication and clarity is key. This is not the opposite of being firm, forceful and enacting good discipline. In fact, sometimes being strong in the face of misbehaviour can create good children. We’re not here to suggest that you strike your kids, or to never ever consider this a possibility. Everyone has different parenting styles, and as long as you’re making the effort to raise the best person you can by acting fairly and competently, then you should be doing a good job regardless.
