Lunch: You can’t get away with skipping it, because if you do, your productivity (and your kids’ attention) at work and school will suffer. But a reliance on pre-packaged or on-the-go meals can be a good way to load your body with much more sodium, sugar, fat, and calories than it needs. And unhealthy lunches may be part of the reason that many of us are suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Fortunately, a healthier lunch is a completely doable project to tackle. All it takes is a little planning and a few tricks. For starters, think about what you’re making for dinners. Can you double it—or even double certain elements of it? A small serving a pasta meal, for example, makes a great lunch when paired with a salad. Or extra chicken can go into that salad for a filling dose of protein along with your vegetables. This graphic offers even more ideas to get you started.
How do you do lunch? What is you go to lunch? Do you eat leftovers for lunch? Any thoughts? Please share in the comments below. Me and my mom really would love to know.
Until next time, shine amongst the stars!
