As a wife, mom, and business owner, I know firsthand how easy it is to let self-care fall to the bottom of the to-do list. There’s always something else that needs to be done, and it can feel like there’s never enough time in the day to take care of everything.
But the truth is, taking care of ourselves is essential for our well-being and our ability to show up fully for our families and our work. That’s why I’ve put together this list of five simple self-care practices that have made a big difference for me as a busy mom.

Take a walk outside.
Getting outside for some fresh air and movement can be incredibly rejuvenating, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Whether you have a few spare minutes during the day or can fit in a longer walk during the morning or evening, make a point to get outside and move your body.

Set aside time for a relaxing activity.
Whether it’s reading a book, taking a bath, or doing some yoga, make time for an activity that helps you relax and recharge. Even if you can only spare 15 minutes, make the most of that time and prioritize yourself.

Connect with a friend.
As moms, it can be easy to get caught up in our own worlds and forget to connect with friends. But making time for a phone call or coffee date with a friend can be incredibly beneficial for our mental health and well-being.

Get enough sleep.
This one might seem obvious, but it can be difficult to prioritize sleep when there’s always something else that needs to be done. Try to set a consistent bedtime for yourself and make sure you’re getting enough restful sleep each night.

Practice gratitude.
Taking a few minutes each day to focus on the things we’re grateful for can have a big impact on our overall happiness and well-being. Whether it’s writing in a gratitude journal or simply taking a few minutes to think about the things we’re thankful for, making gratitude a regular part of our routine can be a powerful self-care practice.

Incorporating these simple self-care practices into your routine can make a big difference in how you feel and show up for yourself and those around you. Remember, taking care of yourself isn’t selfish – it’s essential.
