They Only Show the After: Why Your “Middle” Is Where Real Change Happens

Sharing is caring!

Scroll through social media for five minutes, and you’ll see it everywhere.

The before. The after. The transformation.

What you don’t see?

The middle. The hard days. The discipline. The starting over… again and again. For a long time, that made me feel like I was doing something wrong. Like… why is this so hard for me?

So today, I want to talk about the part nobody shows—the part that actually matters. The middle.

The Highlight Reel Problem

Most people online show you the results. The weight loss. The glow-up. The “look at me now” moment. And don’t get me wrong—that’s inspiring. But it’s incomplete.

Because what’s missing is the reality behind it:

  • The early mornings when you don’t feel like getting up.
  • The days when the scale doesn’t move.
  • The moments when you question if any of this is even working.

That part? That’s the real story.

Why the “Middle” Feels So Hard

The middle is where motivation fades. It’s where excitement wears off and routine has to take over. It’s where you realize this isn’t a quick fix… it’s a lifestyle.

And that’s uncomfortable. Because now it’s not about hype; it’s about consistency.

My Turning Point

At some point, I had to be honest with myself. I wasn’t failing. I was just in the middle.

Instead of waiting to “arrive” before I shared my journey, I decided to do something different. I decided to show up right here, in the process.

Why I’m Sharing My Journey in Real Time

That’s why I started documenting my 100-Day Lock-In. Not just the wins, but the work.

  • The days I don’t feel like it.
  • The days I want to quit.
  • The days I still show up anyway.

Because that’s where real transformation happens. Not in the “after,” but in the decision to keep going when it’s hard.

If You’re in the Middle Right Now

Let me tell you something I wish I heard sooner: You’re not behind. You’re not doing it wrong. You’re building something real.

The middle is where your habits are formed, where your discipline is tested, and where your identity starts to shift. And that takes time.

Final Thoughts

The “after” will come. But don’t rush past the middle trying to get there. Because this part? This is where your life actually changes.

So if you’re showing up today—even when it’s hard—keep going. You’re closer than you think.

If this spoke to you, follow along with my journey. I’m documenting my 100-Day Lock-In in real time—no skips, no filters, no shortcuts. Because we’re not just chasing results… we’re building a lifestyle.

  1. This one really hit… I love how you reminded people that the “middle” is actually where everything is happening, even when it doesn’t feel exciting. It makes the whole process feel a lot more human and less lonely 💛
