Discipline is the New Soft
Most people think a 100-Day Lock-In is about the grind. For me, it’s about the grace. I’m proving that you can be the most disciplined version of yourself while living your softest, most intentional life.
On the surface, “Locking In” sounds intense, rigid, and perhaps even a bit harsh—the exact opposite of the “Soft Girl” aesthetic we’ve all come to love. But after 17 years of journaling and navigating the ups and downs of lifestyle entrepreneurship, I’ve discovered a secret: Discipline is the highest form of self-care.
By locking in on my goals, I am removing the stress of indecision and the friction of “trying” to find my way. Here is how I’m maintaining that Soft Girl Era energy while staying completely committed to my 100-day journey.

1. Discipline is My Safety Net
In a Soft Girl Era, the goal is to avoid “survival mode” at all costs. Nothing creates survival-mode anxiety quite like lack of direction. When you are locked in on your 100-day goals, you aren’t waking up wondering what to eat or when to fit in a workout.
The plan is already set. This structure actually creates mental ease. Because I’ve already made the “hard” decisions during my Sunday prep, my daily life becomes a soft flow of pre-planned rituals. I don’t have to scramble; I just have to be.
2. Movement as Meditation, Not a Chore
I’m currently hitting 15,000 steps a day, but I’m not doing it because I “have” to. I’m doing it because I deserve the mental clarity that comes with it.
The Soft Approach: While I’m “locked in” on the number, I make the experience feel like a luxury. I’m wearing athletic sets that make me feel confident, walking through beautiful Raleigh trails, and getting lost in my favorite mystery podcasts. It’s not a workout; it’s a 15,000-step soul session.

3. High-Protein as High-Luxury
Hitting a target of 150g of protein can feel like a daunting task if you view it as a chore. Instead, I view it as high-level nourishment.
The Soft Approach: I’ve traded chalky, rushed shakes for high-volume, animal-based meals served on my favorite dinnerware. I sit down at my marble island, light a candle, and fuel my body with intention. I am locking in on my health because I love my body and want it to be strong, not because I’m trying to shrink it out of hate.
4. Scripting the Success
While the world might see a “Lock-In” as pure physical grit, I know it is a spiritual alignment. My 17-year journaling practice is my ultimate Soft Girl tool.
The Soft Approach: Every morning, I use my script to manifest the ease of my transformation. I’m not “grinding” toward my goal weight of 186 lbs; I am flowing toward it. My journaling transforms these 100 days from a “sentence to serve” into a beautiful journey of becoming.

5. Protecting the “In-Between” Spaces
The Lock-In requires deep focus, which means my boundaries have to be rock solid. In the past, I might have felt guilty saying no to social pressures or distractions. Now, I see it as protecting my peace.
The Soft Approach: By saying “no” to things that don’t align with my Chapter Two journey, I am creating a sanctuary in my home and my schedule. The “Lock-In” gives me a valid reason to stay in my soft, neutral-toned bubble and focus entirely on my own evolution.
The Soft Life Reflection
Softness isn’t about the absence of effort; it’s about the absence of friction. When you align your discipline with your desires, the hard work starts to feel like a gift you are giving to your future self.
What are your thoughts about How I’m Balancing the 100-Day Lock-In with My Soft Girl Era, How are you feeling about your balance today? Does your current routine support your peace, or do you feel a need to add more “softness” to your schedule this week? Let’s talk about it in the comments.

Until next time, shine amongst the stars!
