A Quiet Morning with Green Tea and Affirmations

This past January 7th, I woke up early, drawn to the crackling warmth of the fireplace and the promise of a quiet morning. As I sipped my green tea, a sense of peaceful stillness embraced me. It was the perfect setting to start the day with an affirmation from my blog post, “Cultivate Your Dreams: Daily Affirmations for a Transformative January 2024.” The words for January 7th resonated deeply: “Every moment is a blank page, an opportunity to write a new chapter. Today, I choose kindness, joy, and compassion as my guiding pens.”

From Affirmations to Inspiration: Weaving the Threads of Memory

The warmth of my tea and the power of affirmation sparked inspiration. I found myself writing the February affirmations for my blog “28 Days of February Affirmation of Sparkle-Tastic Self-Love!”, and as I reached February 14th, Valentine’s Day, a flood of memories swept over me. My daughter, Zoey Love, was born on that very day, a burst of sunshine even amidst her father’s absence.

Zoey’s winter break was coming to an end, and the bittersweet reality of driving her back to college loomed. We’d shared precious moments – shopping sprees with sisters, laughter echoing through family dinners, the simple joy of being a complete family. These memories ignited a flame, an ode to the magic of motherhood, poured into a poem:

Valentine’s Joy: Zoey’s Winter Delight

In the heart of winter, on Valentine’s Day,
A bundle of joy came our way.
Zoey, our daughter, a gift so sweet,
Her presence makes our lives complete.

Home from college, on winter break,
Laughter and warmth, memories to make.
A reunion of hearts, a family’s embrace,
Cherishing moments, time can’t erase.

Her smile lights up the darkest night,
In her presence, everything feels right.
As a mother, my heart swells with pride,
Watching her bloom, right by my side.

Two sisters by her side, a trio so dear,
In these moments, time disappears.
Family love, an unbreakable tie,
Underneath the winter sky.

But alas, the day has come,
She spreads her wings, her journey begun.
College awaits, adventures unfold,
A bittersweet tale, as the story is told.

Today she leaves, our Zoey so bright,
Spreading her wings, taking her flight.
In our hearts, the love remains,
A melody of joy, despite the strains.

I’ll miss her laughter, the warmth she brings,
Yet celebrate the song that life sings.
For Zoey carries a part of us each day,
No distance can take that away.

So, farewell for now, my dear Zoey,
Into the world, to chase your decree.
But know, in our hearts, you’ll forever stay,
Our love, a beacon, lighting your way.
