Starting My Health Journey: From 220lbs to 135lbs

Health Journey

Sharing is caring!

Hi everyone, it’s your girl Lavanda Michelle! I hope you’re all doing well and staying positive. Today, I want to share something really important and personal with you. Over the past year, I’ve faced some big health challenges, and it has been a tough journey. But now, I’m ready to make a change for the better, and I want to take you all along with me on this journey to better health and weight loss.

My Story

Let’s rewind a bit. Last year was incredibly tough for me. It all started when I broke my foot, which left me unable to move around much for months. This immobility led to significant weight gain. But that was just the beginning. I also had severe asthma attacks that landed me in the ICU, three times, with severe blood loss due to fibroids. To manage my asthma, I was on steroids for months, which further contributed to my weight gain.

The Impact

Before all this, I weighed 167lbs. Now, I weigh 220lbs. The physical and emotional toll of gaining this much weight has been immense. But I’m not one to give up.

My Goals

Now, I’m determined to turn things around and get healthier. My goal is to get down to 135lbs and feel strong and healthy again. But this journey isn’t just about me. I also want to inspire others who might be going through similar struggles.

The Plan

So, what’s the plan? I’ll be focusing on eating healthy by including lots of fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains in my diet. I’m going to work with a nutritionist to create a meal plan that helps me reach my goals. Meal prepping will be a key strategy to make it easier to stick to healthy eating.

I’m also planning to try intermittent fasting, which means eating during a specific window of time each day and fasting for the rest. This approach can help with weight loss and improve my overall health.

In terms of exercise, I’ll start with easy activities like walking and swimming and slowly increase my activity level. Physical therapy will be crucial in helping me get stronger and more active.

Medical support is another important aspect of my plan. I’ll continue working closely with my doctors to manage my asthma and fibroids, following their advice and taking my medications as needed.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Staying positive and managing stress is essential. I’ll be practicing mindfulness and getting support from friends, family, and mental health professionals.

Balancing Life

As I start this health journey, I’ll also be balancing life as a wife and a mom of three daughters, all now in college. Blogging about my experiences while supporting my family will be challenging, but I’m excited to share every part of it with you. I hope my journey can inspire and motivate others, no matter what their own challenges may be.

My Health Journey from 220lbs to 135lbs Hey TikTok fam! It’s Lavanda Michelle. Today, I’m sharing a journey that’s really close to my heart. Over the past year, I’ve faced some tough health challenges, but I’m ready to take charge and make some big changes. Last year, starting at 167lbs, I had some serious setbacks—like breaking my foot and dealing with severe asthma attacks due to fibroids. It was rough, but I’m not letting it stop me. I’m focusing on eating healthy: lots of fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains. Meal prepping is my new best friend to stay on track! I’m also trying intermittent fasting. It’s about when you eat, not what you eat, and it’s been a game-changer for me. Starting with light exercises like walking and swimming, and slowly building up. Physical therapy is crucial for my recovery too. I’m working closely with my doctors to manage my asthma and fibroids. It’s a journey, but I’m taking it one step at a time. Mindfulness and support from my family and friends are helping me stay positive and focused. Oh, and did I mention? I’m also a wife and a mom of three amazing daughters, all in college. Balancing it all is a challenge, but I’m ready to share every part of this journey with you. This journey isn’t just about losing weight; it’s about reclaiming my health and feeling amazing.
