We’re Still Good (And That’s Enough)

Love and Letting Go

Sharing is caring!

We were poetry once-
No the king that rhymes,
But the kind that lingers…
In slow Sunday mornings and unspoken lines

You were my rhythm, I was your grace,
Two souls aligned – no need o chanse.
We didn’t end with shouting matches or slammed doors,
Just quiet truths we couldn’t ignore,

You wanted sunrise, I needed stars,
We were both right.. Just from afar.
I don’t hate you – I never could
I’ve healed in ways I never understood.

See, love like ours doesn’t vanish.
It just finds new rooms to flourish.
You were my mirror when I forgot my shine,
Now I light my own candles and sip peace like wine.

Still…. I see your face in the laugh of a song.
And though you’re not mine, it don’t feel wrong
You ain’t my man no more, but you’re not my regret.
You’re the soft sign after te storm, the peace I won’t forget.

I don’t wish you back, I wish you well-
A king of farewell, were no hearts fell.
We’re still good, just not together
And that’s a love that might last forever.

Not in kisses or calls or “what could’ve been.”
But in blessings we send when we think of “back then.”
You taught me to stretch, to break, to grow –
Now I walk different, soft and slow.

My name and bitter, mt shine and fake
This freedom? Baby, it’s mine to take,
So if they ask me who you are,
I won;t roll my eyes or raise the bar.

I’ll say, “He was good to me. He was Kind. He was TRUE.”
And that chapter, tough closed, was something I outgrew.
I’m not your rib now, but I was your breath,
And I honor that love, even in it’s death.

Because some endings ain’t tragic, they just shift shape.
And what we had? That wasn’t a mistake,
We loved soft. We let go right,
I sleep in peace, you dream at night.

And though our paths now curve through different woods,
I see you in my prayers,…
Yeah – we’re still good.
