As a wife and mom, keeping my home clean and tidy is a top priority. But with a busy schedule and a never-ending to-do list, finding ways to make cleaning easier and more efficient is a must. That’s why I’ve put together a list of my top 10 cleaning hacks that have saved me time and energy in the long run.

Use dryer sheets to clean baseboards
Dryer sheets aren’t just for laundry day! Use them to easily clean baseboards by rubbing them along the surface. They not only remove dirt and dust, but they also leave a pleasant scent behind.

Remove water stains with vinegar
Water stains on faucets and showerheads can be tough to remove, but vinegar can do the trick. Soak a cloth or paper towel in vinegar, wrap it around the affected area, and let it sit for a few hours. The stains should easily wipe away.

Clean your microwave with lemon
Microwaves can quickly become a mess, especially when food splatters and spills. To clean it, cut a lemon in half, place it in a bowl of water, and microwave it for a few minutes. The steam from the lemon and water mixture will loosen any grime, making it easy to wipe away.

Use baking soda to clean your oven
Cleaning the oven is a dreaded task, but baking soda can make it easier. Mix baking soda and water to make a paste, and spread it over the inside of your oven. Let it sit for a few hours, then wipe it away with a damp cloth.

Use a squeegee to remove pet hair
Pet hair can be tough to remove from carpets and furniture, but a squeegee can make the job much easier. Run the squeegee along the surface, and watch as the hair is quickly collected.

Clean your blinds with a sock
Blinds can be time-consuming to clean, but a sock can make the job a breeze. Slip a sock over your hand, dip it in a mixture of water and vinegar, and run it along each slat.

Use a toothbrush to clean grout
Cleaning grout can be a tedious task, but a toothbrush can make it easier. Mix baking soda and water to make a paste, and use a toothbrush to scrub it into the grout. Rinse with water, and watch your grout sparkle.

Clean your showerhead with a plastic bag
If your showerhead has become clogged with mineral buildup, a plastic bag and vinegar can help. Fill a plastic bag with vinegar, wrap it around the showerhead, and secure it with a rubber band. Let it sit for a few hours, then remove the bag and run the shower to flush away any buildup.

Use coffee filters to clean glass
Paper towels can leave streaks on glass surfaces, but coffee filters can give you a streak-free shine. Use them to wipe down windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.

Use a dishwasher tablet to clean your washing machine
Over time, your washing machine can become dirty and smelly. To freshen it up, simply drop a dishwasher tablet into the drum, and run a hot cycle. The tablet will clean away any buildup, leaving your washing machine smelling fresh and clean.

By incorporating these cleaning hacks into your routine, you’ll save time and energy, and have a cleaner home in the process. Give them a try, and see how they can make your life easier.
