As a wife and mom with many years of Thanksgiving celebrations under my apron, I’ve come to cherish the moments that extend beyond the dining table. Thanksgiving is about more than just food; it’s a time for laughter and bonding with family. In this blog post, I’ll take you on a journey through our cherished tradition of “Thanksgiving Family Games Night,” sharing our favorite games, anecdotes, and the laughter that has kept us coming back for more. Let’s explore how to make your Thanksgiving night filled with joy and unforgettable memories.

Thanksgiving Family Games Night
1. Game Selection:
Our “Thanksgiving Family Games Night” starts with the selection of games that cater to all ages. From classics like charades and Pictionary to newer board games, we’ve seen our fair share of friendly competition and hilarious moments.

2. Laughter Galore:
Thanksgiving games often lead to laughter galore. One year, our uncle attempted a hilarious interpretive dance during a game of charades, leaving us in stitches. It’s now an annual tradition.

3. Trivia Showdown:
Trivia games are a hit at our Thanksgiving gatherings. Our family has a knack for choosing obscure facts, leading to amusing debates and outrageous claims.

4. Leftovers and Laughs:
Our “Thanksgiving Family Games Night” often ends with leftover pie and more laughs. We’ve had moments where my kids tried to sneak in extra dessert portions, leading to pie-pilfering wars.

Now, here’s the humorous twist in our Thanksgiving family games night story. Imagine you’re the host of a Thanksgiving game show, and your family members are the contestants. As they tackle charades, trivia, and dessert dilemmas, there may be unexpected interpretations, fierce debates, and pie-related escapades. Perhaps your grandma attempts to rap during charades, or your little cousin insists that cranberry sauce is the best trivia topic.
But here’s the secret ingredient: Thanksgiving is about more than just winning a game; it’s about the love and laughter shared among family. So, when faced with a hilarious dance-off or a dessert dispute, remember to serve up a generous portion of humor and a pinch of unity. After all, a good laugh can turn a potential game night showdown into cherished Thanksgiving memories.

Yes…. this is so much fun and perfect to host Thanksgiving night too! We are going to be doing some karaoke for sure and may have to play a game or two of Scrabble as well!
Heads Up (on mobile) is another good one – it’s a remake of a board game but you don’t even need to carry around the board.
Board games are amazing! They create the basis for a solid tradition. Be it a regular week night or a Holiday Season get-together, playing a game with your family and friends makes real memories and builds connections.
