Hello everyone, it’s Lavanda Michelle checking in for Week 7 of my health journey. and I couldn’t be more grateful for your ongoing support and encouragement. This week has been absolutely thrilling, and I’m so excited to share the latest updates and milestones with you!

Reflecting on My Journey

Since kicking off on June 1, 2024, I’ve already shed an incredible 35 pounds. It’s not just about the numbers on the scale—this journey has brought me newfound energy and a renewed zest for life. The progress I’m experiencing is a testament to the power of commitment and positivity!

Tracking Physical Activity

This week, I was a step-counting dynamo! Let’s talk about my steps for Week 7:

  • Day 43: July 13: 30,415 steps
  • Day 44: July 14: 22,934 steps
  • Day 45: July 15: 22,890 steps
  • Day 46: July 16: 30,804 steps
  • Day 47: July 17: 27,938 steps
  • Day 48: July 18: 20,514 steps
  • Day 49: July 19: 29,604 steps

Total Steps for the Week: 185,099 steps
Average Daily Steps: Approximately 26,443 steps

I cherished every moment walking with my three daughters, Zyan, Zoey, and Zaya, and our dog Zeus. We had a blast at Lake Johnson and explored many of Raleigh’s scenic trails. Here are four of the most popular walking trails in Raleigh, NC, that we loved this week:

  • Lake Johnson Park: Offers several trails, including a 3.5-mile paved greenway and unpaved trails through wooded areas.
  • Umstead State Park: Offers various trails, including the Company Mill Trail and the Sycamore Trail.
  • Shelley Lake Park: Features a 2-mile loop around the lake with beautiful views and wildlife.

Beyond the Scale Achievements

While shedding pounds is fantastic, the non-scale victories have been even more rewarding. Breathing easier, sleeping better, and feeling more comfortable in my clothes are just the start. My mind feels clearer and my mood is brighter—no more clouds of confusion, just sunshine and smiles! It’s incredible how improving physical health can positively impact mental well-being. Feeling good physically has a ripple effect, making me more positive and energetic every day.

Embracing Healthy Habits

Intermittent fasting continues to be a cornerstone of my routine, and I’m loving the clarity and discipline it brings to my day. By sticking to a 16-hour fasting window and an 8-hour eating period, I’ve found it so much easier to stay focused on my goals and manage my hunger. This method really helps me maintain a balanced approach to my eating and stay energized throughout the day.

Daily affirmations and journaling have also been essential in keeping my momentum. Each morning, I start with uplifting affirmations that set a joyful and proactive tone for the day. Journaling provides me with a space to reflect on my thoughts, challenges, and triumphs, keeping me centered and motivated.

Daily Affirmations and Journaling

Along with my physical habits, I’ve kept up with my daily affirmations and journaling. Kicking off each day with positive affirmations sets a cheerful and proactive tone, helping me stay focused and upbeat about my goals. Journaling has become a joyful part of my routine, allowing me to reflect on my thoughts, challenges, and victories, giving me clarity and a sense of accomplishment. This mix keeps me motivated and excited for what’s ahead!

Affirmations:

  • 🌟 Positive Mindset: “I am committed to my health and well-being” sets a positive tone.
  • 💖 Self-Love: “I love and respect my body” reminds me to treat myself with kindness.
  • 🎯 Goal Focus: “Every day, I am moving closer to my ideal weight” keeps my eyes on the prize.
  • 💪 Confidence Boost: “I am capable of reaching my weight loss goals” reinforces my belief in myself.
  • 🥦 Healthy Choices: “I choose nourishing foods that support my goals” guides my meal choices.
  • 🍽️ Control: “I am in control of my eating habits” empowers me to make mindful decisions.
  • 🔒 Commitment: “I am dedicated to achieving a healthy body weight” reinforces my long-term commitment.
  • 🏋️‍♀️ Strength Building: “My body is becoming stronger and healthier with every positive choice I make” motivates me to stay active.
  • 🌸 Ease and Grace: “I release excess weight with ease and grace” helps me let go of perfectionism.

These affirmations are more than just words—they’re my daily boosts of positivity, guiding me toward a healthier lifestyle. Whether I’m making mindful food choices, enjoying a brisk walk, or simply taking a moment to celebrate my progress, affirmations keep me grounded and inspired every step of the way.

The Power of Community

The support from the Pacer app community and my social media circle has been phenomenal. Your encouraging words lift my spirits and push me to new heights every day. Thank you for being my cheerleaders—I couldn’t do this without you!

Achievements and Celebrations

On Pacer, I unlocked a lot of badges for July this week, including the 14-day badge, Emerald League badge, 300 km badge, and 200 km badge. These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication I’ve poured into this journey.

Enjoying Life

We were out and about so much this week, and we enjoyed frequent visits to Tropical Smoothie Cafe. My go-to smoothie is the Peanut Paradise without the sugar and with added pea protein and probiotics. My favorite sandwich is the Chipotle Chicken Club, but I hold the bacon and double the meat!

As I gear up for Week 8, I’m filled with gratitude for how far I’ve come and excitement for the challenges ahead. With each new week, I’m learning more about resilience and the power of community. Together, we’re unstoppable!
