
You might be worried about muscle and joint pain ruining your life. It doesn’t have to, there are numerous things you can be doing to get rid of it for good. First of all, find out what is causing your pain. It may be the way you are sitting at work, how you are sleeping in bed, or even your mattress. Mattresses should be replaced every eight years, after this time they can become lumpy and uncomfortable. If your pain doesn’t go away you could always seek alternative therapies, this could include a visit to a chiropractor or acupuncturist. Warm Up
It is essential that before you take part in any exercise or workout you stretch and warm up. Warming-up does exactly that, it warms up your muscles and joints ready for what you are about to throw at them. If you don’t warm up then you run the risk of getting injured during your workout. Make sure you are stretching everywhere, not just the muscle groups you plan on using.

Walking
Walking is a great, gentle exercise that is never too harsh on your muscles or joints. Both stress and pain relieving, you can walk anywhere you like. You can go through your local park or even a leisurely stroll to the local shops. As long as you are moving around then you are already one step ahead with your fitness.

Cycling
Cycling is one of those exercises that you enjoy while you are doing it. You may dread it before you hop on that bike. You could cycle to some amazing places and it is really good at keeping your hips flexible. The last thing you want is your hips seizing up as this will be painful when you walk or lay down. Cycling just 30 minutes a day will help keep you as mobile as possible. If you are unsure of where to cycle to, you could think about joining a cycling group in your local area.

Swimming
You can’t get a better workout than one done in a swimming pool. One of the benefits of swimming is that you feel 50% lighter in the water. This means that you can do absolutely anything and you won’t feel it. If you are struggling with joint pain, swimming is one of the best things you can do for your body. Try and walk around in the water, the resistance will help you work your joints and keep them mobile. You could also join an aqua aerobics class and get moving along to the sound of music.

Yoga
One final exercise to mention is yoga. This is brilliant if you find yourself in pain a lot of the time. You can incorporate a yoga workout into your daily routine, it doesn’t take long. Just 10 minutes a day is enough to keep your joints working and free from added stress. You can do it in the comfort of your own home by following along to workout videos online. Make sure you follow them completely as you don’t want to get injured.

I need to commit more to stretching. I used to be big on yoga but then I discovered HIIT I think it’s important though to have a good balance of both. Thanks for sharing these!
Yoga always helped me before, and meditation. meditation is great for stress!
Yoga definitely helps! My husband and I do at least 10 minutes of yoga per day, sometimes up to 30. We also like to swim when we can for exercise since it’s easier on the body.
