How I Lost 70 lbs in 90 Days—And Why I’m Starting Over at 238 lbs

The Journey That Changed Me—And the Wake-Up Call That Brought Me Back

In 2017, I lost 70 pounds in just 90 days—not with a fad diet or a magic pill, but by becoming my own health detective. I journaled, tracked everything, moved more, and honored my body in a way I never had before.

And it worked.

But now, in September 2023, I’m facing a different kind of challenge. I’ve hit my NEW highest weight ever—238 lbs—and earlier this year, I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). Suddenly, the fatigue, weight gain, cravings, and emotional rollercoasters made more sense.

This diagnosis didn’t break me—it empowered me. Because I know what works.

And now, I’m pressing “restart.” Not from zero, but from wisdom. I’m taking back control of my health—again.

How I Lost 70 lbs in 90 Days (And How I’m Using That Blueprint Now)

Here’s what I did back then—and what I’m doing again with even more purpose:

✅ I Journaled Everything

I wrote down what I ate, how I felt, and what triggered me. Awareness was my superpower.

✅ I Counted My Calories

Using MyFitnessPal, I stayed between 1200–1600 calories and hit 135g of protein daily. High protein changed everything.

✅ I Got My Steps In

With the Pacer app, I aimed for 10,000+ steps/day. Today, I walk with my husband, shop with my daughters, and use a desk treadmill to stay moving even at work.

✅ I Measured More Than My Weight

I tracked inches, water intake, sleep quality, and energy—and synced it all to my phone via Bluetooth scale.

✅ I Created a Visual Routine

I made a motivational calendar to log progress. Seeing my wins helped me stay focused.

✅ I Prioritized Water

Back then I drank a gallon of water daily. I’m back at it—goodbye soda, hello hydration!

What Changed—and What PCOS Taught Me

Over the years, I slipped into old habits. Life got busy. I stopped moving as much, snacked more, slept less, and relied on caffeine and carbs to get by. The scale climbed. My energy tanked.

Then, in June 2023, I was diagnosed with PCOS—a condition that explained so much. Weight gain wasn’t a lack of willpower. It was hormonal chaos.

But instead of staying stuck, I’m choosing strength.

My PCOS Restart Plan

Here’s how I’m applying everything I’ve learned—again, but smarter:

  • Movement: Walking every day, using my under-desk treadmill, and dancing around the kitchen.
  • Intermittent Fasting: I’m following a 16:8 window to regulate blood sugar and support my hormones.
  • Protein First: Prioritizing lean proteins, fiber, and healthy fats to stay full and balanced.
  • Mindful Tracking: Still journaling, tracking meals, water, and even my cycle to stay in sync with my body.

So… Why Am I Sharing This Now?

Because this isn’t just about me.
It’s about us—the women who’ve been there, gained it back, got the diagnosis, felt lost, and are ready to rise again.

This is a comeback story in progress.
It’s not perfect, but it’s powerful.
And if you’re starting over too—I’m walking beside you.

Let’s do this. 💪🏾
