Hello everyone, it’s Lavanda Michelle checking in for Week 5 of my health journey. Your support has been amazing, and I’m thrilled to share my progress!
Family, Fun, and Fourth of July
This week was all about family and fun. I celebrated the Fourth of July and still kept up with my health goals. Since June 1, 2024, I’ve shed 25 pounds! It feels incredible to see the numbers go down and to feel more energetic and healthy every day.

25 Pounds Down! 💪

Tracking Physical Activity
This week was a free week, and I had more energy and time to get in my steps. I’ve been a walking machine! Here’s my step count for Week 5:
- Day 29: 33,917 steps
- Day 30: 16,931 steps
- Day 31: 50,820 steps
- Day 32: 25,590 steps
- Day 33: 16,385 steps
- Day 34: 21,780 steps
- Day 35: 37,140 steps
Total Steps: 202,563
Average Daily Steps: 28,937
I enjoyed walking through the farmer’s market with my girls, exploring fresh produce, and having fun little adventures. My morning and night walks with my hubby were special moments for us to connect and unwind, offering us precious moments to connect and unwind. We also visited many walking paths here in Cary, North Carolina, exploring the beautiful trails that this area has to offer. Each path offered a new scenic view and a chance to appreciate the beauty of nature.



More Than Just Numbers: Non-Scale Wins
While the scale is great, the non-scale victories are amazing too! This week, I didn’t need my rescue inhaler at all, which is a huge win for my respiratory health. I’m sleeping better and feeling more refreshed every morning. And guess what? My clothes are fitting looser!
I also feel mentally clearer and happier. It’s incredible how getting healthier physically can make your mind feel so much better.
Healthy Habits and Happy Vibes
Intermittent fasting is a big part of my routine. I fast for 16 hours a day and eat for 8. This schedule has helped me control my hunger and focus on nourishing my body during eating hours. I also keep up with my weight loss affirmations and use prompts for my daily health journal. These affirmations and journaling practices keep me motivated and aligned with my goals.
During my fasting times, I find joy and strength by reading your comments. The love and encouragement from you all have been a true game changer. Knowing that I have a supportive community cheering me on makes a huge difference. I am so grateful for each one of you. Your words lift me up and keep me moving forward.

Daily Affirmations and Journaling
Along with my physical habits, I’ve kept up with my daily affirmations and journaling. Kicking off each day with positive affirmations sets a cheerful and proactive tone, helping me stay focused and upbeat about my goals. Journaling has become a joyful part of my routine, allowing me to reflect on my thoughts, challenges, and victories, giving me clarity and a sense of accomplishment. This mix keeps me motivated and excited for what’s ahead!
Affirmations:
- 🌟 Positive Mindset: “I am committed to my health and well-being” sets a positive tone.
- 💖 Self-Love: “I love and respect my body” reminds me to treat myself with kindness.

- 🥦 Healthy Choices: “I choose nourishing foods that support my goals” guides my meal choices.
- 🍽️ Control: “I am in control of my eating habits” empowers me to make mindful decisions.
- 🔒 Commitment: “I am dedicated to achieving a healthy body weight” reinforces my long-term commitment.
- 🏋️♀️ Strength Building: “My body is becoming stronger and healthier with every positive choice I make” motivates me to stay active.
- 🌸 Ease and Grace: “I release excess weight with ease and grace” helps me let go of perfectionism.
These affirmations are more than just words—they’re my daily boosts of positivity, guiding me toward a healthier lifestyle. Whether I’m making mindful food choices, enjoying a brisk walk, or simply taking a moment to celebrate my progress, affirmations keep me grounded and inspired every step of the way.









The Power of Community
While the Pacer app community has been amazing for keeping me accountable with the June Challenge, but the support from my online blog and social media friends has been just as important. Your kind comments and encouraging words lift my spirits and keep me motivated to stick to my goals every day. You all make this journey so much brighter and more fun!

Motivation!
I’m still crushing my June Challenge on the Pacer app. I hit my 6,000-step goal every day and often went above and beyond. Feel free to join me on Pacer at Pacer Link. The Pacer app has great motivational pictures and quotes that help a lot! I’m thrilled to share that I finished #1 in the Gold and Sapphire League on Pacer! It’s such an honor and a testament to the hard work and dedication I’ve put into this journey. I also unlocked a new badge, “Perfect Score,” which made me feel like a fitness superstar!

As I move into Week 6, I’m filled with gratitude for my progress and the wonderful support from all of you. This journey has shown me the power of resilience and community. Let’s keep moving forward and celebrating every victory together!
