They say the first thirty days of any transformation are the hardest, and this past month has certainly tested that theory. As I sit here on March 27, 2026, looking back at where I started just four weeks ago, the reflection in the mirror is changing—but more importantly, the mindset behind it is stronger than ever.
The Progress Report
- Starting Weight: 249.6 lbs
- Current Weight: 229.0 lbs
- Total Loss: 20 lbs

Pollen, Persistence, and Pushing Through
I’ll be honest: there were moments this month when I wanted to hang it all up. Living in Raleigh during pollen season is a battle of its own. Between the sneezing and the allergy medication that makes every step feel like walking through molasses, hitting my 15,000 step goal wasn’t just physical—it was mental. There were days the exhaustion almost won, but I refused to let a high pollen count derail my 100-Day Lock-In results.
A Celebration of Balance
March 24th was a major milestone—my birthday! It taught me how to blend discipline with joy. Instead of “breaking” my progress, I simply adjusted. I pushed my 16:8 eating window back so I could enjoy a beautiful dinner date with my husband, Tim. Living in my “Soft Girl Era” means moving with ease and intentionality; shifting the schedule for a night of love isn’t a failure, it’s sustainable living.

Listening to the Body
One of the most interesting shifts has been my relationship with food. Following a high-protein protocol (aiming for that 150g daily!) has changed my satiety signals. I’ve actually found myself too full to finish my dinner some nights. It’s a welcome change to feel so fueled and satisfied that the urge to overeat has vanished.
The Weekend Ritual
Since I’ve been staying indoors to avoid the allergies, I’ve embraced my favorite guilty pleasure: binge-watching General Hospital. Weekends have become my time to recharge, catch up on the drama in Port Charles, and give my body the rest it needs. Having the support of Tim and my three daughters has made every hard day easier.
We are 28 days down, and the momentum is real. Twenty pounds gone, a heart full of gratitude, and a vision that is clearer than ever.
