The Joy of Event Planning as an INFJ Wife and Mom

Sharing is caring!

As an INFJ wife and mom who has been planning events for well over a decade, I can attest to the unique challenges and rewards of this fast-paced and social career. When I first started out, I wondered if my introverted nature and desire for deeper connections with people would hinder my success as an event planner. But I quickly discovered that being an INFJ can actually be an asset in this field. In this post, I’ll share my tips and insights on how to make the most of your INFJ strengths and build a successful career in event planning, even as a busy wife and mom.

Building relationships

As an INFJ event planner, I can attest to the importance of building strong relationships in this industry. Being an empathetic and sensitive person, I have found that my people skills are one of my greatest assets when it comes to connecting with vendors, clients, and attendees. By taking the time to truly understand their needs and desires, I have been able to build long-lasting relationships that have proven invaluable in my career. From negotiating contracts to collaborating on event design, these relationships have helped me create truly memorable events that exceed expectations.

Organization

As an INFJ event planner, staying organized can sometimes be a struggle. But I’ve found that it’s essential for success in this fast-paced career. To keep on top of deadlines and deliverables, I’ve developed my own systems that work for me. Whether it’s color-coding my calendar or using task management software, finding a method that helps me stay on track has been crucial.

Another strategy I’ve found helpful is delegating tasks to trusted team members or vendors. As a busy wife and mom, I simply can’t handle every aspect of event planning on my own. By delegating tasks to others, I can free up my time and energy to focus on the areas where I excel, such as building relationships with clients and coming up with creative event concepts. It’s a win-win situation that allows me to provide high-quality services to my clients while still maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Enjoy

As an INFJ wife and mom who loves event planning, I believe that one of the most important aspects of this career is enjoying the process. Despite the challenges that come with organizing and executing events, I find it incredibly fulfilling and enjoyable. As an INFJ, I’m able to leverage my creativity and attention to detail to come up with unique event concepts that truly connect with attendees.

And let’s not forget the importance of humor and lightheartedness! Adding a touch of humor to an event can create a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for attendees. As an INFJ, I understand the importance of creating an event that truly resonates with people, and sometimes that means injecting a bit of humor into the proceedings. So, don’t forget to have fun and enjoy the journey as an INFJ wife and mom in the event planning industry.

Final Thoughts

As an INFJ wife and mom who has pursued event planning as a career, I can attest to the fulfilling nature of this profession. With our attention to detail, strong intuition, and empathetic nature, INFJs are well-equipped to create events that truly resonate with attendees. Building relationships is a critical component of event planning, and as an empathetic and sensitive INFJ, I have found that I can connect with vendors, clients, and attendees on a deeper level. Additionally, while organization can be a challenge for us, developing systems and delegating tasks have helped me stay on top of deadlines and deliverables. Finally, let’s not forget to have fun and inject a bit of humor and lightheartedness into our events. As INFJ event planners, we have the opportunity to create magic and bring joy to those around us. So, let’s raise a glass (or a plate) to all the INFJ event planners out there, and remember: even when things go wrong, just blame it on Mercury retrograde!
