Hello everyone, it’s Lavanda Michelle checking in for Week 2 of my health journey. Your continued support has been a tremendous source of motivation for me, and I’m excited to share the latest updates and milestones from this week’s adventures toward better health.
Reflecting on My Journey
From the highs of my daughter Zaya’s graduation to the daily grind, Week 2 has been filled with both challenges and triumphs. Since starting this journey, on June 1, 2024, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve already shed 10 pounds. It’s amazing to see tangible results from my commitment to a healthier lifestyle.


Tracking Physical Activity
Tracking my daily steps has been instrumental in my progress. Here’s a breakdown of my steps for Week 2:
- Day 8: 9969 steps
- Day 9: 16072 steps
- Day 10: 11392 steps
- Day 11: 6528 steps
- Day 12: 12156 steps
- Day 13: 8969 steps
- Day 14: 9752 steps
Total Steps for the Week: 74,938 steps
Average Daily Steps: Approximately 10,691 steps/day
Consistency in walking has not only helped me stay active but has also provided a sense of accomplishment every day.



Beyond the Scale Achievements
While the scale is a great indicator of progress, the non-scale victories have been equally impactful. This week, I noticed significant improvements in my overall well-being. I haven’t needed my rescue inhaler at all, marking a significant improvement in my respiratory health. Moreover, my sleep quality has improved, leaving me feeling more refreshed each morning.
Embracing Healthy Habits
Implementing intermittent fasting has been transformative. By fasting for 16 hours daily and focusing on nutritious meals during an 8-hour window, I’ve found a sustainable way to manage my eating habits and support my weight loss goals. Planning meals ahead of time has made it easier to make healthier choices throughout the day.


Daily Affirmations and Journaling
In addition to physical habits, I’ve incorporated daily affirmations and journaling into my routine. Starting each day with positive affirmations has set a proactive tone, helping me stay focused on my goals and maintain a positive mindset. Journaling has become a reflective practice where I record my thoughts, challenges, and victories, providing clarity and insight into my progress.
Affirmations:
- Positive Mindset: Starting each day with affirmations like “I am committed to my health and well-being” sets a positive tone.
- Self-Love: Affirming “I love and respect my body” reminds me to treat myself with kindness.
- Goal Focus: “Every day, I am moving closer to my ideal weight” keeps my eyes on the prize.
- Confidence Boost: “I am capable of reaching my weight loss goals” reinforces my belief in myself.
- Healthy Choices: “I choose nourishing foods that support my goals” guides my meal choices.
- Strength Building: “My body is becoming stronger and healthier with every positive choice I make” motivates me to stay active.
- Ease and Grace: “I release excess weight with ease and grace” helps me let go of perfectionism.
- Gratitude: “I am grateful for the opportunity to improve my health through healthy eating” reminds me to appreciate every step.
- Control: “I am in control of my eating habits” empowers me to make mindful decisions.
- Commitment: “I am dedicated to achieving a healthy body weight” reinforces my long-term commitment.
These affirmations aren’t just words; they’re my daily mantras, guiding me towards a healthier lifestyle. Whether I’m making food choices, going for a walk, or simply taking a moment to appreciate my progress, affirmations keep me grounded and motivated.









The Power of Community
While the Pacer app community has been instrumental in keeping me accountable with the June Challenge, the support from my online blog and social media community has been equally invaluable. Your supportive comments and words of encouragement lift my spirits and motivate me to stay committed to my goals every day.

Looking Ahead
As I look forward to Week 3, I am filled with gratitude for the progress I’ve made and the support I’ve received. This journey has taught me the importance of resilience and community, and I’m excited to continue sharing my journey with all of you.
