  • Portion Control: I tracked my servings using a food scale and learned how to listen to my body’s fullness cues.

This mindset shift helped me build a healthier relationship with food, one meal at a time.


2. Started Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting became a game-changer in my routine. Here’s what worked for me:

  • I followed the 16:8 method, eating within an 8-hour window (usually from 12 PM to 8 PM).
  • Fasting allowed me to reduce mindless snacking while still enjoying satisfying meals during my eating window.
  • Most importantly, it never felt restrictive—it fit seamlessly into my schedule.

3. Walked Every Day

Exercise doesn’t have to mean grueling hours at the gym. For me, walking was the perfect way to stay active without feeling overwhelmed.

  • I started with a daily goal of 10,000 steps using a pedometer app for tracking.
  • Over time, I gradually increased my step count, hitting 15,000 to 20,000 steps daily.
  • Walking also became a form of self-care—a time to reflect, listen to music, or just enjoy the outdoors.

4. Practiced Mindful Eating

Mindful eating helped me transform how I viewed food. Here’s what I did:

  • Savoring Every Bite: I slowed down during meals, chewing thoroughly and appreciating the flavors.
  • Listening to Hunger Cues: I paused during meals to assess if I was still hungry or simply eating out of habit.
  • Cutting Out Distractions: I avoided eating in front of screens, which made meals more intentional and satisfying.

This approach made a significant difference in controlling portions and reducing emotional eating.
