There is no denying that staying healthy is something that is important at every stage of our lives. However, sometimes it can feel as if living a healthy life is a struggle. The funny thing is that the actions that have the biggest impact on our health are actually very easy to take. Read on to find out what they are.

Get moving
Exercise isn’t just about burning calories. Instead, moving your body can result in all sorts of wonderful benefits from better mood, improved sleep, and even better productivity at work.
Of course, moving your body more can help you maintain a healthy weight as well which is good news for your heart. Being at a healthy weight also helps your joints, as it means less strain is placed on them as you move.
With that in mind, try and get moving every day for around 30 mins. You don’t even have to do them all in one go. Instead, break it down into 3 ten minute walks, bike rides, or even having a dance around your kitchen! Your body and your brain will thank you for it.

Up your intake of vegetables and fruit
You probably grew up with your mom telling you to eat your greens, and she really did have a point. This is because upping your intake of plant foods, and lowering your intake of meat can help you stay healthy in several ways.
One of the most important things you can do for your health is to eat a diet that primarily consists of high-quality plant foods. Eating more plants and less meat is associated with a decreased risk of many diseases, including heart disease, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol. Secondly, fruit and veggies are where most of the fiber in your diet comes from, and it’s pretty important if you want to stay healthy.
With that in mind, be sure to get at least 2 portions of fruits or veggies with every meal. Oh, and try to consume them in the most unrefined state possible. For example, a raw banana will contain much more healthy fiber than one that has been pureed and cooked.

Don’t ignore symptoms!
While it’s tempting to ignore a symptom of a problem and hope it will go away on its own, this is the worst thing you can do for your health. Instead, it’s always better to get things checked out because it means you will know what needs to be done to treat them if there is an issue.
Indeed, with many conditions such as pulmonary hypertension, where the blood pressure in the vessels that supply the lungs is too high, early detection can mean the difference between managing the condition and developing an even more serious problem (in this case heart disease) later on.
Additionally, many conditions such as pulmonary hypertension can be tricky to diagnose because they so closely resemble other heart and lung issues. With that in mind, taking the time to find an expert in the field of pulmonary hypertension is well worth the effort. After all, it’s your long term health that is at stake.

Add muscle mass
If you are looking to stay healthy over the long term then building muscle mass is a very good idea. This is because having a high proportion of muscle makes it easier to burn calories, and so stay at a healthy weight. It also helps your bones and joints to stay healthy because muscle mass helps to create the right level of tension in your body, which exerts stress on your bones. That in turn will help them to build density and keep you healthier for longer.
The current recommendation is to do 2-3 strength training workouts a week. If you don’t love the gym, why not try muscle bands or kettlebells instead?
Stay mind fit
Making sure your mind is healthy along with your body is vital for wellbeing throughout life. The good news is that regular exercise will help regulate your mood. However, there are other things you can do to build your mental fitness such as mediation and prayer. Indeed, those that have a religion and regularly pray often have much better health outcomes than those that don’t.
Having a fun hobby that you can enjoy without stress, and getting a good night’s sleep will support your mental fitness too. Altogether, these things should help you have a happy, as well as a healthy life, and one in which you will be motivated to stay healthy for as long as possible.

Indeed such a good read. Glad I came over this post. I am reminded to take healthy habits. Especially these days, we really need to take good care of our health.
We always travel as family. I’ve traveled with my son halfway across the world when he was only 7 and didn’t have any problem at all.
Not ignoring symptoms is very important to ones health. Great tips. Thank you.
I’m afraid I’ve ignored these strategies for way too long! I’m in the process of trying to find a new doctor because my last one moved away.
Thank you for these wonderful tips. some of us do put things of from time to time.
